YWCA Asks: What does an “empowering woman” mean to you?
Angie: An empowering woman makes others feel safe being vulnerable. She is a good listener who is able to help others find their voice and inspires them with the confidence to use it.
YWCA Asks: In what ways do you feel that you empower other women?
Angie: I feel that I empower women by being a sounding board. To me that means asking questions to help women come to their own conclusions; challenging them to step outside of their box and act on things that make them uncomfortable; and reassuring them that they are not alone.
YWCA Asks: Would you please share an experience or tidbit of knowledge that would help other women? This could be a lesson learned, or motivational story, or information that you would like to share to help educate others.
Angie: A favorite quote: “Do what you feel in your heart to be right – for you will be criticized anyway.” -Eleanor Roosevelt
