For 130 years, YWCA has been a place of refuge and hope in northeast Indiana. We’ve been here for our community, providing vital programs in domestic violence and sexual assault support, addiction recovery services, and education. These programs offer a path to healing and a chance for a brighter future.
We’re incredibly grateful for the public funds we receive and are committed to using them wisely. In a world that’s constantly evolving, you may start to notice subtle shifts in our language to emphasize the values we’ve always held dear: equality, fairness, and respect for all. Shifting our language to emphasize our values ensures we can continue securing resources for serving our community effectively.
Our commitment to serving those who need YWCA‘s services is unwavering. We believe everyone deserves a chance to thrive.
We know that these are challenging times, and we’re so thankful for your continued support. Every donation, every act of kindness, helps us continue our work. Would you consider making a gift today? Your generosity will help us provide critical services and build a more compassionate community for all.
-Paula Hughes-Schuh (CEO, YWCA Northeast Indiana)

Health First Grant Program
Did you know that in 2023, Indiana’s General Assembly approved a landmark investment in public health? The Allen County Health Department opted into the initiative and made grants last year to dozens of agencies across Fort Wayne. YWCA Northeast Indiana is a recipient of Health First funds. Health First funding has helped YWCA critically expand our residential services for people fleeing domestic violence and women seeking addiction recovery. Frontline staff connect clients to health resources through providing bus passes and transportation access as well as working with clients on a day-to-day basis to take steps at improving their overall health and wellbeing. YWCA Advocates and Case Managers connect clients with appointments for physical and
mental health and help clients build a self-sufficiency that is characterized by resiliency and thriving.
YWCA thanks the Allen County Health Department for trusting us with Health First funds and for making this resource available to our community!
