YWCA Northeast Indiana invites women to come together for Coffee & Conversations! These quarterly events provide a welcoming space for women to connect, learn, and empower one another by sharing experiences and insights.
Coffee & Conversations provides an opportunity for women to learn from each other through:
Shared experiences
Women can relate to similar challenges and obstacles faced by other women, fostering understanding and empathy.
Mentorship and guidance
Experienced women can provide valuable advice and support to those navigating career paths or personal situations.
Building confidence
Sharing successes and overcoming insecurities within a female network can boost self-esteem and confidence.
Unique perspectives
Women often bring different viewpoints and approaches to problem-solving, enriching the learning process.
Our 2026 Coffee & Conversations theme is “Chapter by Chapter: Wellness & Wisdom for Life Stages” Join us as we discuss important health issues for women.
The topic of our second conversation is The Pre- and Postnatal and will take place on June 12th from 8-9:30am at YWCA Northeast Indiana, 1313 W Washington Center Rd.
The Pre- and Postnatal Chapter
The transition into and through motherhood is one of life’s most profound shifts. This session provides essential insights into managing the physical, emotional, and practical changes of the prenatal and postnatal periods. We will cover a variety of topics from recovery and fitness to nutritional needs and bonding. Connect with others who understand the joy and complexity of this chapter of life. Learn to build a strong, supported start for this beautiful new phase of life.
Meet our Guest Speaker:
Lara Lahr
MSN, CNM
Lara graduated from Frontier Nursing University in 2019 as a certified nurse midwife and has been a nurse since 2006. Much of her career was spent in Philadelphia, providing community nursing for high-risk pregnant women and postpartum visits, as well as serving as the prenatal nurse for a bilingual FQHC.
Over 6 years ago, Lara moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana, to pursue her dream midwifery job in Auburn where she did birth center and hospital deliveries. Today, she continues her passion by working in both a hospital and FQHC practice, serving a diverse group of women in one of Indiana’s zip codes with the highest maternal and infant mortality and morbidity rates.
