PRESS RELEASE: Saint Joseph Community Health Foundation Awards YWCA Northeast Indiana $40,000 for Domestic Violence and Addiction Recovery Program

[FORT WAYNE, INDIANA, JANUARY 9, 2026] YWCA Northeast Indiana received a $40,000 grant from the Saint Joseph Community Health Foundation to support operations in the Domestic Violence Shelter and Addiction Recovery Program. YWCA operates a 24/7 domestic violence crisis shelter with 82 beds and an intensive, residential women’s addiction recovery program with capacity for 86 clients. The grant funding will be used for continued operational needs for both programs.

Our residential program offers a soft place to land and a strong foundation for change.”

YWCA Northeast Indiana helps adults and children experiencing domestic violence to understand the dynamics of domestic violence so that they are empowered to live a life free from abuse. Services for survivors of domestic violence include 24/7 emergency shelter, case management by our Advocates, counseling services, parenting support and children’s services, financial assistance, support groups, and other resources to assist individuals and families in meeting their needs during and after a crisis.
