Diversity Dialogue: Nurturing the People

The topic of our August 22nd Diversity Dialogue was Nurturing the People. Recognizing that some communities in need experience gaps in accessing care and services, we examined the work of those who provide supplemental forms of nourishment in our community. Cassius OA Stallings

Wellness Coordinator, HealthVisions Midwest of Fort Wayne

Cassius Stallings is a passionate community Leader and advocate with over a decade of experience serving our community. Mr. Stallings currently serves as the role of Wellness Coordinator with HealthVisions Midwest of Fort Wayne. He is also a Certified Advanced Community Health Worker of 7 years. He has served with various organizations in Allen County in hopes to always be building a better community for all.

Win Tun Nyunt

Founder, Burmese Workers Initiative

Yin Yin Moe

Burmese Workers Initiative, Worker's Project

Win Tun Nyunt was born in Burma. Studied in Mandalay University. Involved in 1988 student revolution for democracy. Exiled and resettled in Fort Wayne.

Yin Yin Moe was born in Mandalay, Burma. Studied in Mandalay University. Resettled in Fort Wayne.

Win Tun and Yin Yin have developed a rich agricultural program in Fort Wayne, winning the 2022 Dignity Award from HeathVisions Midwest for their tireless efforts on behalf of Burmese Farmers and the Burmese Community. They have an active farmers market every Sunday afternoon in the parking lot of The League.  You can read more about this program and see photos here.
