Race for a Reason 5K Walk/Run - YWCA Northeast Indiana

Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, and supported our 5th annual Race for a Reason 5K Walk/Run. Each year, this event raises funds for the work that YWCA Northeast Indiana does in Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, Noble, Wells, and Whitley counties. This work includes community engagement, domestic violence advocacy and awareness, addiction recovery awareness, education, and sexual violence advocacy and awareness.

2026 Highlights

Family and Friends: There were so many families and friends that participated in teams together. We love seeing that!

Music & Activities: The energy was high once DJ Julio Ex and emcee, Julian Teekaram, got access to electricity! Year after year they bring a contagious and uplifting energy that you need before running a race.

Community Partners: Local organizations were present at the event to share what they are doing in our community.

Raffle: Those who stayed for the raffle won some awesome prizes, including passes to Summit City Climbing Gym, Papa John’s, and tickets to see the Fort Wayne Philharmonic.
